    Whitsuntide calves or foals are said to be unlucky and long ago they put the animal in a grave for a few minutes. A man had two foals on Whitsuntide day and a month after he was found then drowned,
    Also they say to sow potatoes on the twenty ninth of the month is unlucky. They say you have a bad crop.
    To break a mirror is seven years bad luck and to hear a cock crow late at night is unlucky.
    My uncle aged about 60 told me that.
