St. Brigid is the local Saint of this district. There is a church in Kilcullen and it is St. Brigid's Church. There is a well in Kilcullen and it is also called St. Brigid's well. She was born in Dundalk but she spent nearly all her time in Kildare. She was the patron Saint of Kildare.
