- (continued from previous page)Some people would not start any work on Thursday. Because the people said that there was an unlucky Thursday to come and they did not know what one it was. So they never started any work on any Thursday.
- There are many signs of the weather such as if a cat sat with his back to the fire it is a sign of rain. If the sky was red at the north the next day would be fine. If a frog came out of the water on the road it is a sign of rain. If the smoke was going up straight out of the chimney it is a sign of fine weather, but if it comes down to the ground it is a sign of rain.
