  1. Long ago there were no churns or separaters .They used put the milk into pans in the night and next morning there would be cream on the top of it.Then they would skim it with a skimer made of timber.
    They the would get a quart bottle and rattle the milk inside in it and it would be made in fifteen minutes and often the bottle would have to be broken to take out the butter.The used make a churn box shape and then they would get a neur and one end of it wide and the other side narrow and they would keep mixing until it make.
