    V A story.
    There was once a widow and her son ,who were very fond of each other.The son used eat a terrible lot so his mother got too poor to feed him .The house wanted to be thatched ,so one day the son went to a neighbour for a "beart"of straw and he brought nothing to tie it.
    When he reached the man he told him to go out to the shed for a rope.So he went and there were car -ropes and ploughing chains in it.He tied them alltogether ,and put all the cock of strawa upon his back and walked away with
