    Marriages of long ago.
Long ago when a man and a woman would be going to get married ,the man would send someone to settle with the parents. Then he would come back and tell the man .Next night three or four men would go for the fortune -that is ,a couple of cattle or a couple of cows or a sow and bonhams or a field.
On the day they would go to the church with a side car or if not walking. They would not marry on Mondays Tuesdays Tuesdays ,Fridays. Often the men would an ass to the house and the woman would come out through the window.
