  2. Starch
    Long ago starch was made in a very cheap way.The old people used scrape potatoes into a bucket .Then they used squeeze it in a little bag made for the purpose.
    The starch then was in that water and after a while it would sink to the bottom and harden.The water was thrown off and a fresh washing given,this water was thrown off again and given its last washing.
