There lived a man in Derryfadda who went to Loughrea to buy a filly. He walked all the way.he left home at two o clock in the morning and was home again at five in the evening.
One time at the races of Newtown when the horse was about to take the jump the jockey was knocked and the horse kept going all the time with the intention of winning the race herself but the man got up like lightening ran after him caught her by the tail and leaped on her back and won the race .
