  1. Long ago they used to colour socks with Ivy. They used to put down the ivy and the socks together and boil them. Then they would take them up and dry them. They used to put down flannel with the moss that grows on the stones and it would have the colour of moss.
    They used to colour wool with black stuff they used to get in a Nuing near Derrofadda. They used to boil them together and then take them up and wash them.
