  1. Long ago the old custom the people had was to pull a heap of branches called quick beam. or mountain ass. they used to leave this in the kitchen and shake Easter water on them.
    Then they used to stick on branch some place in the house and another in the dung hill and then one in every garden they had crops growing in and shake the easter water over the land. they used also shake Holy Water on all the cattle to keep the fairies from bringing them or the way anyone would not bring the luck from them.
