  1. Long ago when all the people would be in cuaird in a house one man would say to another "will you take this man's daughter" if he said he would the match would be made and all aranged. Then the next day the would go and walk the land.
    Often the boy or girl knew nothing about it until they were brought to chapel. Very often the father would would come home drunk from a fair or market and tell his daughter he had a match made for her. She had to consent although she never the man before. If the father
