- (continued from previous page)The children wore no boots or stockings in the summer. The people had no corns or sore feet then. They washed their feet in hot water every night. When they had them washed they would throw out the water. If they did not someone would come knocking at the door. The door would be opened but nobody would come in. They would say that it was the good people that wanted it.
