  1. My grandmother told me that there was a woman and a child sick in the Hospital in Cashel and the matron was very cross to them. When the mother died the matron used to beat the child and every night at twelve o'clock the mother used to be seen opening the door and going over to the child and nursing it. About two weeks after the matron went out in the yard late at night and the Mother met her at the door and choked her. The child died that night and she was never seen again.
