  1. Father Sheehy was born in Wexford and was very popular amongst his people. He was accused by the English in 1877 for the murder of a pedlar who was afterwards seen in America. He was tried in Clonmel.
    He was hanged in Clonmel on Gallow's Hilll and and afterwards his head was taken
