  1. The local people have great beliefs as regards the weather. A red sky is a sign of fine weather and a black one the sign of rain or storm. To hear the wind very high is a sure sign of a storm. The swallows and sea gulls fly low when we are going to have rain and when the cat sits with his back to the fire it it a bad sign.
