  1. The local fair is held in Listowel on the square and on the streets. But in other parts of the county they are held in fair-fields or at cross roads. The local fairs are held once a fortnight the pig fairs are held on the day before the cattle fair, bonhams and sheep are sold on the cattle fair day and the horse fairs are held on the first Thursday of January April July and October.
