  1. In olden times woolweaving was carried on to a great extent in this locality. Sheep were very plentiful in those days. The sheep were first shorn. The wool was washed thoroughly put out to dry on the fields and left to dry for several days. It was then taken in and put into baskets and carded into rolls.
