In olden times people had several remedies, for certain diseases; such as; macantahu as a cure for boils; ferret's milk as a cure for chincough, to put a gander's beak into a child's mouth every morning for nine mornings, as a cure for craoscollar, and houseleek as a cure for a bleeding nose.
