  1. Long ago our ancestors tell when we were going to have rain or snow. By the, fire, or smoke by the animals and birds.
    The old people say that if there is a blue blaze in the fire it is the sign of rain.
    When the clouds are dark it is the sign of snow or hail or when the wind blows from the North.
    If foxes bark much in October they are calling up a great fall of snow. When the birds and badgers are fat in October expect a cold Winter.
    When the sky is read when the sun sets its the sign of fine weather.
