- Holy Wells.
There are many holy hell scattered here and there all over the country. They are all (over) held in great veneration by the people to honour the saints whom the well is connected.
There is one situated about three miles from here, and about two miles from Ahascragh. It is right in the middle of a field and a good distance in from the public roads. Crowds of people go to the well on certain days to make the station. The priest says the roasry and goes around the well(continues on next page)- Collector
