  1. Churning.
Churning is carried on in nearly every farmer's house. With the cream from the milk butter is made.
My father has three cows which gives us milk, they are milked every morning and night. The milk is brought in and it is strained into a milk-basin and it is left there for twenty-four hours and the cream is taken off with a wooden spoon and put into a crock and the cream is left there for two days it is stirred usually and then churning takes place.
