  1. Local Cures
    In older times there were no chemist shops, and no doctors, and no trained nurses and yet the people cured their ailments themselves. A tooth ache was cured with a lump o washing soda dissolved in water and washing it with it. A head ache was cured with tea leaves by putting them on a cloth and putting them to the forehead.
    Mumps were cured with a plant called gladom warmed and placed to the face. For a deep cut or a wound a rib of grass was got and roasted and smeared with
