  1. In the olden times fairs were held.
    But now the local fairs are
    Ballyforan Ballygar
    Four - roads Athleagh Mount Talbot Ballinasloe Brideswell, Athlone.
    There is also a fair held every year in Ballyforan the 14th of October a lot of buyers attend to it. When people sell sheep or horses, they give a luck penny.
