  1. One night Martin Meenaghan was coming home from Shrule. One his was home near the "chestnuts" he saw the "Major" on a horse. He ran home to the college and again on the avenue he passed out a man in black clothes. He spoke to him but he did not answer. When he saw him he knew him to be the Major. This was the time the Major was buried in the tomb in Dalgan and after this his corpse was changed to the Shrule graveyard.
