Long ago when the Danes were in Ireland, they made portions of the mountains, and put ditches around them for eash of them and they used pick the heath or heather and make a kind of drink out of them but they never told any body how to make it. They also had holes down in the ground near the cliff to store the drink. There is a hole under Carroll's land and two or three at the North side of this parish. There
