  1. There are two grave yards in the parish of Ballyheigue. One of them is situated in the town land of Keel. There was a monastery there long ago, but it is now in ruins. It is said that Bishop Erc lived in the monastery, it was he who baptised St Patrick. The Corridon family are buried in Keel now, and before any of them dies a light is seen and this foretells that one of them is to die whether it is here or in America or far off Australia. The Banshee or Caoine is also heard beside
