    In olden times when there were no such things as gas or lamps or electric light or anything like the light we enjoy at the present day, the people made candles at their homes. They called these Padogs. They were made from the fat of animals.
    They got pieces of cotton thread for a wick, and they twisted these together and they put it through the middle of the mould, leaving a little but at each end so that it would be easy to
