- (continued from previous page)in wooden pecks or pans and allowed to stand there for a few days. Then the milk was skimmed with a wooden skimmer and put into a large tub for the purpose. It was left there for a few days longer and it was then churned. Every one who came into the dairy while the churning was making, the people of the house would not leave them out without taking "a dras" of it that is to help them to make the churn. They thought if this was not done the butter could not be made properly.
