  1. There are many old customs still held in this district. On St Bridgets eve the young boys of the townland dress in old clothes and put on false faces and go from house to house gathering money. They always have some musical instruments and they play and dance in every house.
    This is another old custom on St Patrick's day every person wears a harp or a piece of green ribbon in honour of St Patrick. In olden times every man used go to the public house and stay drinking all day they
