  1. The Patron saint of this parish is Our Blessed Lady. The church is dedicated to her (her) honour. It was built about the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight. The old church was where the present graveyard is but was knocked down the time of Cromwell. The Church was then erected in the site of the old school.
    There is a blessed well in the district near the village of Ballyheigue.
