  1. Fairs were held in different towns and small villages in the country. There was a fair field in every town. These fairs were held on different dates. Cattle fairs were held once a month in the town of Tralee and a horse fair was held once a month.
    When the horse was sold to the jobber, the seller had to leave the halter on the horse and he had to give him 'luck money'. When cattle were sold a luck penny had to be given also by
