  1. The local fairs are held in Cloughjordan, Roscrea, Birr.
    The fairs are nearly always held in towns.
    The buyers do sometimes transact business in the country and at Farmer's Houses.
    There are fairs that were held formerly are still continued
    There are no local traditions of fairs held on hills in the neighbourhood of cemeteries or castles.
    Some of them are held in streets and more have special places.
    When an animal is sold back money is nearly always givien. It is called luck money. When a bargain has been made the parties shake hands.
