times. As a fisher-man was coming home from the fishery one morning about three o'clock he saw a Leiphreachan sitting under the fairy tree. He was about two feet in height. He had the face of an old man and he wore a long whisker and a red cap. He was smoking a long pipe. As the fisher-man was passing by he saluted the Leiphreachon and the Leiphreachon laughed back to him and said "Draw near young man and take a smoke from Jack Dewanes pipe and you wont be sorry". But the fisher-man refused him and went his way. The tree is growing there still. It is also said that a cooper was often heard working there. And people often heard meat frying there in the middle of the day.
