    A long time ago there lived a giant near the banks of the Shannon. He had only one eye.

    harp that would play the most enchanted music that ever you heard. There was a very wealthy squire living near him and he often visited him to hear the beautiful music of the harp. The giant wore a lovely ring the like of which was never seen before. This squire had a great desire for the ring. He didn't know how he could come by the ring. He made up with the man-servant and offered him a big prize if he could blind the giant. One morning as he was serving the breakfast to the giant he fell against him and stabbed him in the eye with a fork. The giant thought it was an accident and after a few days he was blind in both eyes. In a few days after the squire came to see the giant and he played the harp for him and his beautiful ring was on the table. After a short time the giant fell asleep and the harp still played and played. The squire saw
