  1. In the olden times they used look for nice ash trees along the ditch with a bacall on it and make the hurley out of it and repair them themselves. The balls they had in the olden times were made of perk and timber. The goals they had were sticks or their coats. The football they had in the olden times were the same footballs as they have now. In the olden times there often used be sixteen or eighteen in a team. Two townlands used play against each other.
