  1. About ninety nine or a hundred years ago there was a fierce flood. It lasted for a couple of days and many cows and men were killed.
    About thirty years ago there was a Salvation Army tent in the Listowel Market. It was blown on to Market Street. A number of slates were blown off the houses.
    About nine years ago there was continued rain for three days and three nights. A huge flood followed and overflowed the banks of river Feale and it ran up Scortlea Cross and across the railway tracks and the trains and motors could not run at all. Many people were
