  1. Bread was made long ago with meal and water. It was called Paka. Stampy was made from raw potatoes grated. Wheaten bread was also used long ago. Potato cake was also made from boiled potatoes and a little flour and is also made nowadays. Bread baked in the oven is cut across the top to prevent the crust from breaking when the cake is baking or rising in the oven. Bread is also baked in a griddle.
