  1. In my district on St John's night we light bonfires of bog deal and turf.
    Also on St Martin's night we light fires, but not as big as those which we light on St John's night.
    On St Patrick's Day the shamrock is worn by all the people in my district. They get it on the railway line. The old people wear it on their hats and the others on their coats.
    On Ash Wednesday morning the people in my district go to the chapel to get holy Ashes on their forehead.
