  1. There are a number of fairy forts round the district. One in the town-land of Gurtacrissane and two in the town-land of Ballyhorgan.
    The one in the town land of Gurtacrissane is known by the name of a fort. There is a fence of stones and black thorn trees, round. It is circular in shape. There is a passage open in it and it is about two feet wide.
    The fence is about four feet high and in the centre of the fort there is a large hole and the hole is covered with boyrs.
