These are the wild birds we have in this district:- blackbird, thrush, robin, wren, owl, magpie, snipe, grouse, linnet, chaffinch, hawk, lark, sea gull, wild duck, wild goose, pheasant, wood-cock, water hen, pigeon, bull-finch, gold-finch, yellow-hammer, willie the sink, tom tit, sparrow, cuckoo, jackdaw, curlew, crane, green plover, swan, jack-snipe.
    The blackbird builds her nest in the side of a ditch or in a furze bush. The nest is made of sops and lined with feathers. She lays four or five blue eggs.
