  1. I used to keep two or three dogs in the house, but as I deslikjed there bringing dirt indoors I had as had a large pan of water outside the door and when we came home from a muddy walk I used make them jump in and wash their feet. Now Frisk hated this and I sometimes had to repeat my order two or three times before he would step into the cold water. One day we had delightful scramble over hedges and ditches and as there had been much rain we were very muddy when we reached home. Of course I told the dogs to jump in and wash
