  1. Cromwell was a bold strong cruel man, but he was a great soldier. He fought against King Charles in England and dethroned him. When he had that done he came to Ireland. He landed in Ring near Dublin in the year sixteen forty nine (1649). He had an army of fourteen thousand men with him. He went to take Drogheda.
