  1. Long ago there was no white cow in Ireland. One day a farmer went out after his cattle and he saw a fairy cow in th field. He told his neighours and they came to see her. The man was giving milk to the country and he was getting very rich. Every year she had a white calf. One day the farmer said he would kill her. When the day arrived all the people came to see her and they were sorry. When he was going to kill her she rose in the air and the calves followed her
