  1. The landlord of this district was Lord Sligo. There was once a man and he had a white mare which used to graze on a hill called Crocabhean. One day his mare was taken from him. So he went to Lord Sligo. Lord Sligo told him to put a brand on his mare and that if anyone took his mare again, to tell him and he gave him two shillings. There were a good many people evicted in this district.
