  1. There is an old castle in Ayle which is in the parish Aughagower and the County of Mayo. It was built about eleven hundred years ago. When the Danes came to Ireland it was burned and it was built again.

  2. There is an old church in the graveyard of Aughagower. It was built by Saint Patrick. He had a number of men drawing stones on goats. There was a man living in the Deerpark and he had a very cross bull. He told Saint Patrick to tame the bull. Saint Patrick brought up the bull to the graveyard and killed him. He kept his skin and the man came
