  1. A number of herbs grow in this district of Luckane in the parish of Aughagower.
    Garlic is a cure for a cold. It is to be boiled in water and the water given to the patient.
    Nettles. The juice of nettles is good for measels.
    Chickenweed is a cure for swelling.
    Hemlock. The juice of hemlock is a cure for cuts.
    Stractla which is a kind of moss which grows in rocks and old stone walls is used for dying wool and woollen materials. It is to be boiled in a pot of water for an hour.
