- In this district people get married on Wednesdays. It is unlucky to get married in lent or advent. Long ago people had no motor cars. When they were married they went home on four sidecars. On that night straw boys came to the house to act and play and they were given refreshments. If they did not get plently drink they did something wrong they interfered with the house or stables, carts or cars. that belonged to the bridegroom.
