  1. A long long time ago St Patrick was coming along one of the principal roads to Aughagower and he came to a very steep hill called Cluain Da Chon. He saw a chief standing on the summit of the hill and he had two greyhounds with him. As soon as the chief saw St Patrick he let loose the hounds and they rushed at him. As soon as they came up to St Patrick he left his hands on their heads and they lay down beside him and let him pass
