  1. An old poet lived in Duras about 30 years ago his name was Matt McMahon. He used composed a lot of songs about Aran. This is one of them.
    The hens are clucking
    And cannot lay
And the people have no money
    For Matt to pay
The people of Aran are very poor
    When they see Matt coming
    They shut the door
He was called Matt na bPlandaí because he used come to Aran selling plants.
This is another song he composed about Peter Coan Laban
