  1. Our local saint is called St. Surney, he lived in the village of Drumacoo about a mile from the church of Ballindereen. Once she sent her servant girl into Island Eddie for a burning coal because her fire was out. A certain person there put the coal into the little girl's apron and it burned her to ashes. When St. Surney heard this she said nobody would ever come out from Island Eddie to Aran with a dry foot. In the little cell where St. Surney.
